One inbox, read by editors
Everything reaches RTD JOURNAL at support@rtdjournal.com. That is the only address we publish and the only one we stand behind. It is read and sorted by our own editors, not by a support queue and not by an automated system, and we do not run a wall of per-department aliases, because in a team this size they only create places for mail to get lost.
Put the purpose at the front of the subject line and you reach the right person faster. CORRECTION, TIP, PITCH, ADVERTISING, or PRIVACY is all we need. If your message is about a particular story, paste the link rather than retyping the headline.
Corrections and complaints about coverage
If we have published something factually wrong, write with CORRECTION in the subject, the link, and the exact sentence you are disputing. Names, figures, dates, and job titles are what we most often get wrong and what we most want to hear about. Our corrections policy explains what happens once your message lands and how quickly.
Complaints about framing, or a headline you think oversold the story, go to the same inbox, and where possible they are read by an editor who had no hand in the piece. If you want a reply rather than a change to the page, say so, and you will get one.
Story tips, and the confidential kind
Tips are among the most valuable messages we receive. A document, a filing, a figure that does not match what an official just said in public: send it, and tell us where and when you came across it. Even a partial lead we can chase is worth more than a polished complaint we cannot.
If sending us something could put your job, your safety, or your standing at risk, protect yourself first. Write from a personal account on a personal device, and make CONFIDENTIAL the first word of the subject so it is treated that way from the first read. We will reply to arrange a more secure channel before you send anything sensitive. We do not identify our sources to anyone, advertisers and lawyers included, and how we handle sourcing is described in our editorial standards.
Pitches, press releases, and advertising
Freelance pitches are welcome, especially from places and beats we cannot reach from a desk. Two or three paragraphs is plenty: what the story is, who you can talk to, and roughly what it would cost. Press releases are fine as plain text in the body of the message, and we do not open unsolicited attachments from senders we do not know.
Advertising, sponsorship, and partnership enquiries go to the same address with ADVERTISING in the subject, and they are handled on the business side, not by the desk that would cover you. What we sell and the categories we refuse is set out on our advertise page.
Privacy requests, legal notices, and reply times
For access to or deletion of your personal data, or any question about what our analytics and advertising partners collect, write with PRIVACY in the subject. The rights you hold and how to use them are described in our privacy policy. If you need a postal route for a formal legal notice, ask and we will provide one.
We deal with corrections the day we read them and aim to answer everything else within two working days, which can stretch during a major running story. If a week passes with no reply, resend rather than assume you were ignored. And we do not ask you to trust any social media account as ours: if one claims to speak for RTD JOURNAL, check it against this inbox first.
