Amazon’s Apple Prime Deals Mostly Undo the June Hikes

Prime Big Deal Days closed October 7 with MacBook Air at $1,099, matching Apple’s June hike, and AirPods Pro 3 at $179.

Amazon’s 48-hour Prime Big Deal Days sale closed at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, with Apple laptops back at their spring prices. The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD sold for $1,099, which is the sticker Apple charged before it lifted Mac and iPad prices on June 25.

The last-day roundups led with earbuds and watches. The computer cuts did something quieter: they undid a summer hike, then asked for a Prime membership and extra shipping time.

Amazon’s $200 MacBook Air Cut Matches Apple’s June Hike

Prime members got 48 hours of exclusive deals starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6, across more than 35 categories. On the Apple aisle, the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air that Apple now starts at $1,299 on its own store landed at $1,099. That is a $200 markdown on the new list, and it is also the exact June 24 price.

The 15-inch 16GB/512GB model followed the same pattern at $1,299, down from $1,499. The 15-inch 16GB/1TB configuration was $1,599, down from $1,799. Amazon took $200 off nearly every M5 Air it put on sale, which is the same $200 Apple added when it raised 13-inch MacBook Air prices to $1,299.

THE ROLLBACK ON AMAZON

Product Amazon price Cut from new list Vs. June 24 sticker
13-inch M5 MacBook Air, 16GB/512GB $1,099 $200 Matches $1,099
15-inch M5 MacBook Air, 16GB/512GB $1,299 $200 Matches $1,299
iPad mini 7, 128GB Wi-Fi $499 $100 Matches $499
11-inch M4 iPad Air, 128GB Wi-Fi $649 $100 $50 above $599

The Mac mini did not line up as cleanly. Amazon had the 16GB/256GB model at $779.99, down from $899, and the 16GB/512GB model at $949.99, down from $1,099. Those “was” prices are Amazon’s, not Apple’s June 25 rungs, so they sit outside the rollback table.

The M5 Max Mac Studio with 36GB of memory and a 512GB SSD was $2,299.99, down from $2,499. Apple’s store still introduces Mac Studio from $2,499 with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. That is a smaller dollar cut than the Air, on a machine whose floor is already the post-hike Studio price.

AirPods Pro 3 at $179 Sat $10 Above Summer

Apple never moved AirPods or Watch list prices on June 25, so those tickets were actual sale prices, not restored ones. Amazon’s recap listed AirPods Pro 3, now up to 28% off, which is $179 against a $249 list, or $70 off. Apple’s shop still has AirPods Pro 3 still listed at $249.

AIRPODS PRO 3 PRICE CHECK

  • Amazon sale: $179 during Prime Big Deal Days, $70 off the $249 list.
  • True floor: The Amazon low of $169 on June 17, ten dollars cheaper than the October ticket.
  • Apple list: $249, unchanged by the June 25 Mac and iPad hike.

Price-history charts put the Amazon average at $208.47 since tracking began on September 9, 2025, with a high of $249 on December 2, 2025. A tracker snapshot dated October 8 still showed Amazon at $179 and in stock after the event window closed, with Walmart also at $179 as of October 6.

At $179 the Pro 3 sat $30 above AirPods 5 with the wireless charging case, which Apple sells at $149. The gap is the sealed fit, heart-rate sensing, and stronger noise canceling, not a collapsed flagship price.

Watch hardware, also spared in June, had cleaner “low” claims. The Apple Watch SE 3 started at $199 for the 40mm GPS model and $229 for the 44mm GPS model, each $50 off and tagged as matching prior lows. The Apple Watch Series 12 was $349.99 for 42mm GPS and $399.99 for 46mm GPS, each $49 off and called new all-time lows on those configs.

The MacBook Pros That Went Under the Old List

The one place Amazon went past a June restoration was the high-end MacBook Pro. The 14-inch M5 Max with 36GB of memory and a 2TB SSD was $3,499, a $600 cut from a $4,099 list. EveryMac’s June table put the 14-inch M5 Max 18-core CPU / 32-core GPU rung at $3,599 before the hike and $4,099 after, so $3,499 sits $100 under that original figure.

MACBOOK PRO CUTS ON AMAZON

Configuration Amazon price Marked-down from Cut
14-inch M5 Max, 36GB/2TB $3,499 $4,099 $600
16-inch M5 Max, 36GB/2TB $3,499 $4,399 $900
16-inch M5 Pro, 24GB/1TB $2,749 $2,999 $250
16-inch M5 Max, 48GB/2TB $4,499 $4,999 $500

The 16-inch M5 Max with 36GB and 2TB at $3,499, down from $4,399, is the steepest dollar cut in the set. EveryMac had that 16-inch M5 Max 18-core CPU / 32-core GPU class at $3,899 before June 25 and $4,399 after, which puts the Amazon price $400 under the old list. The 16-inch M5 Pro 24GB/1TB at $2,749 ($250 off) and the 48GB/2TB M5 Max at $4,499 ($500 off) filled out the larger display row.

Those Max configs are the exception that proves the Air math. A $900 swing on a $4,399 laptop is a different kind of deal from a $200 swing that lands on last spring’s Air.

iPad Air Still Costs More Than It Did in Spring

Amazon put $100 off across the M4 iPad Air configs it listed, and several of those prices were matched at Best Buy. The 11-inch 128GB Wi-Fi tablet was $649. Apple’s June 25 hike took that model from $599 to $749, so $649 is $100 under the new list and $50 above the spring sticker.

The 13-inch 128GB Wi-Fi model was $849 against a $949 post-hike list. EveryMac’s table had that 128GB Wi-Fi 13-inch Air at $799 before June 25, which again leaves a $50 gap. Other listed 11-inch Wi-Fi prices were $749 for 256GB and $949 for 512GB. Cellular 11-inch rows included 256GB at $899 and 1TB at $1,399. The 13-inch 256GB Wi-Fi was $949, and the 1TB Wi-Fi was $1,449.

The iPad mini 7 was the clean restoration. Every Wi-Fi model ran low, starting at $499 for 128GB, down from $599, which is the pre-hike number with a $100-off badge on it. Cellular mini configs had a few cuts as well, without the same full-line restoration in the public list.

What a Prime Membership Costs to Unlock the Prices

None of the Prime Big Deal Days tickets applied without a Prime membership. Amazon prices that membership at $14.99 a month or $139 a year, with a 30-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Carmen Nestares, vice president of North America Marketing and Prime Tech, said the event is built so members can handle hosting, decorating, and holiday gifting in one window.

THE PRIME PRICE TO GET IN

  • Standard plan: $14.99 a month or $139 a year, with a 30-day trial if you qualify.
  • Event length: 48 hours, from 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 through 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7 (2:59 a.m. EDT on October 8).
  • Deal drops: New “Today’s Big Deals” at midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. PDT on both days, while supplies last.

A $70 AirPods cut still clears a month of Prime. A $200 Air cut clears more than the annual fee, if you were buying the laptop anyway. The membership is the product Amazon is selling around those Apple SKUs, and the Apple SKUs are how it fills the cart.

Apple Raised Mac and iPad Stickers on June 25

On June 25, Apple lifted prices on Macs, iPads, Apple TV, HomePod, and Vision Pro after memory and storage costs jumped, a move it tied to AI data-center demand. iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lists did not move. The company said it had held prices as long as it could.

We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly.

Apple, statement on the June 25 price changes

Apple also said it had shielded customers from those increases so far, and that it had reached a point where it needed to raise prices on iPad and Mac. The 13-inch MacBook Air went from $1,099 to $1,299. The 15-inch Air went from $1,299 to $1,499. The 11-inch iPad Air went from $599 to $749. The iPad mini went from $499 to $599. The base iPad went from $349 to $449. A 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro list went from $1,699 to $1,999.

THE 2026 APPLE PRICE CALENDAR

  1. June 23-26, 2026: Summer Prime Day runs four days, and AirPods Pro 3 hit an Amazon low of $169 on June 17, just before that window.
  2. June 25, 2026: Apple raises Mac and iPad prices, leaving iPhone, Watch, and AirPods lists unchanged.
  3. October 6, 2026: Prime Big Deal Days opens at 12:01 a.m. PDT, with the M5 MacBook Air back at $1,099 and AirPods Pro 3 at $179.
  4. October 7, 2026: The 48-hour event ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

That calendar is why a $1,099 Air in October feels like a steal next to Apple’s $1,299 store tile and like a rewind next to a June 24 receipt. Both readings are the same $200.

Delayed Boxes and the Holiday Price Floor

Many of the Apple items had already been on sale for several days by the close, and shipping was already stretching. Last-day orders bought the restored (or, on Max MacBook Pros, beaten) ticket at the cost of a slower box, right as holiday gifting was the pitch. Amazon’s own page framed the event as the start of that season, not the end of it.

Apple’s store did not move with Amazon. The MacBook Air still starts at $1,299 there. The iPad Air still starts at $749. MacBook Pro still starts at $1,999. Mac Studio still starts at $2,499. AirPods Pro 3 still start at $249. The June 25 lists are the floor a shopper meets on apple.com the morning after a 48-hour sale.

Price trackers still had AirPods Pro 3 at $179 after the window closed, so some Amazon numbers may linger. The Mac and iPad restorations are the ones to watch into November, because those products now have two official prices in recent memory: the spring sticker, and the memory-hike sticker Amazon briefly took back.
