Zynga will add Egg’s Iconic Item, I Would Not Leave You Ser, to Game of Thrones: Legends on September 30 at 3 a.m. ET. The squire from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been summonable since February 11, and Ser Duncan the Tall has been in the puzzle RPG since January 14.

HBO still has the next season of the show aimed at the first half of 2027. Egg’s kit shares the September calendar with Joffrey Baratheon’s Iconic Item, which arrived at 3 a.m. ET on September 16.

Egg’s Item Drops at 3 a.m. on September 30

The September 30 update is a power-up for a champion who is already in the roster, timed at 3 a.m. ET. Zynga filed it under New Iconic Items, next to kits for Melisandre and Joffrey, rather than under New Champions or a new season of the HBO series.

SEPTEMBER DROPS IN LEGENDS

Date Champion What arrives
September 2, 3 a.m. ET Melisandre (The Red Woman) Iconic Item: The Flames Do Not Lie
September 16, 3 a.m. ET Joffrey Baratheon (Protector of the Realm) Iconic Item: Severity Is The Price Of Greatness
September 23, 4 a.m. ET Ned, Sansa, Arya, Robb, Catelyn, Jon Snow Hand of the King summon (Exalted Tokens)
September 30, 3 a.m. ET Egg (The Bald Boy Squire) Iconic Item: I Would Not Leave You Ser

Egg’s item on the September calendar sits in a month that is already selling Night King shards on the paid Goldroad track of Endless Winter, which runs from September 14 through October 12. Battle of Blackwater Bay is dated September 17 to 21. Assault on Rook’s Rest follows September 24 to 28. The hedge knight’s squire is one row on that sheet.

On September 16, the game’s official account posted that a new Iconic Item had been forged for Egg and told players to claim it in the app, even though the calendar still lists the go-live time as September 30 at 3 a.m. ET.

The Hedge Knight Has Been Summonable Since January

On January 14, Zynga put Ser Duncan the Tall on a focused summon that spent Gold for guaranteed Legendary shards, four days before HBO’s series premiere on January 18. The studio said the pair was arriving to celebrate the show. Dunk entered as a Legendary Resolute Protector on Gold gems, with no faction tag, and brought BLOCK, a mark that eats one hit and stacks up to 3.

Egg followed on February 11 as a Legendary Battlefield Aid Mender on Blue gems, filed under Targaryen. His passive, Patchwork Protector, already encoded the road partnership: when he heals Dunk he grants a shield based on Dunk’s current HP, and a critical heal also grants stamina, doubled if the target is Dunk. The original crossover even had a joust mini-game, the Tourney at Ashford Meadow, from February 9 to 15.

WHEN DUNK AND EGG ENTERED THE ROSTER

  1. November 12, 2025: Iconic Items launch as a Star Rank 3 power track with 20 levels.
  2. January 14, 2026: Ser Duncan the Tall becomes summonable, with no faction, as a Gold-gem tank.
  3. February 11, 2026: Egg becomes summonable as a Targaryen Blue-gem mender whose kit buffs Dunk.
  4. September 5, 2026: Zynga posts the Broader Factions plan and lists both men under Scattered Banners.
  5. September 30, 2026: Egg’s Iconic Item, I Would Not Leave You Ser, is scheduled at 3 a.m. ET.

The mobile game launched worldwide on July 25, 2024, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO, with Kit Harington in the launch campaign. AppMagic later put first-year player spending at $23.6 million. Zynga’s own anniversary note said House Leaders had finished more than 161 million raids against each other. Dunk and Egg were never the start of that machine. They were a premiere-week skin on it, and September’s item is another pass of the same tool.

What the New Egg Item Does

I Would Not Leave You Ser turns the squire into a squad guardian once he can wield it: a critical heal cleanses debuffs and grants Block, a teammate’s critical-strike-chance buff makes him heal everyone, and an enemy skill crit on an ally lets him set that foe on fire. The title nods to a boy who would not walk away from his knight. The kit is still a live-ops add-on.

Equip I Would Not Leave You Ser to turn Egg into an unwavering guardian for your squad. Landing a Critical Heal allows Egg to cleanse harmful debuffs while granting Block to protect his allies. Whenever a teammate receives a Critical Strike Chance Buff, Egg passively heals the entire team and if an enemy lands a Skill Critical Strike on an ally, Egg retaliates by setting that foe ablaze with Fire.

Game of Thrones: Legends team, September event calendar

That kit sits on top of work Zynga already shipped in February. Makeshift Remedy heals one ally, strips debuffs from the whole side, and gives Fighters an attack buff, with room for a critical heal. Luck To Those Who See It, his leader skill, hands the team extra critical-strike chance and critical damage every three turns. The new item does not invent the bond. It layers Block, a team-wide heal trigger, and a Fire punish onto a mender who was already built to keep Dunk standing.

The official account framed it in softer language on September 16, saying Egg can mend almost anything, from a worn travelling cloak to a weary soul, and pointing players at the App Store listing.

The design is sharp in a narrow way. Egg’s job on screen is to stay, to patch, and to make a large knight less alone. The item copies that job into match-3 timing. It also asks you to already own him, raise him, and feed a second resource track before the line about not leaving does anything in a raid.

Bronn, Jaqen, and the Scattered Banners

The other half of the September pitch is a faction rewrite. On September 5 Zynga said a Broader Factions update was due late in the month because some groups were too thin, villains were slow to catch on, and champions with no faction were less popular in its data. The old Brotherhood Without Banners is being widened into Scattered Banners, described as a home for people who roam for glory or to help others, including hedge knights, mercenaries, pirates, and medics.

THE SCATTERED BANNERS ROSTER

  • Bronn: A sellsword from the original series, filed here as a wanderer for coin.
  • Ser Duncan the Tall: The hedge knight who launched with no faction on January 14.
  • Egg: The Targaryen squire, now dual-tagged, with a cap of two factions per champion.
  • Talisa Stark: Robb Stark’s wife from the original series.
  • Daario Naharis: A hired sword from Daenerys’s plotline.
  • Jaqen H’ghar: A Faceless Man, grouped with the rest as someone off the great-house map.

The Scattered Banners faction going live late September gets 25% critical-strike chance and 25% critical resistance, which Zynga said should make the group functionally immune to critical hits against most of the cast. No champion loses an old faction. Egg can remain Targaryen and pick up the new tag. Dunk, who launched with none, finally gets a banner, and it is shared with Bronn and Jaqen.

That grouping is the live-ops version of the show’s thesis. On HBO, Dunk and Egg work because they are small: a knight of doubtful papers and a shaved-head prince on a dirt road. In Legends they are a synergy pair being folded into a catch-all so a weak faction has names people will summon. Zynga was open about the motive. Popular champions get pulled. Thin factions are hard to support. The hedge knight is useful here as star power, not as a six-episode argument about knighthood.

Star Rank 3 Unlocks the Kit, Then 20 Levels Follow

Iconic Items have been in the game since November 12, 2025. A champion has to reach Star Rank 3 before the item appears, and the first level comes free at that rank. From there the track runs 20 levels. Stat boosts rise on every level, and the special ability gains new effects every 5. The spend is Valyrian Essence (Minor, Major, then Superior) and, for the last five levels, gemstones that match the champion’s color. Those materials come from summons, raids, Alliance Legendary Assault, and a Forge Summon that burns its own token type.

Egg’s new line is locked behind that ladder. You cannot equip I Would Not Leave You Ser on a fresh pull. You have to raise a Legendary mender to Star Rank 3, then keep feeding the item if you want the later effects. Zynga’s September calendar closes with the usual live-ops footnote: champions unlock with summoning shards from play, chance-based drops, or purchase, and character summons are chance based.

That is the part of the “return” that will feel familiar to anyone who already chased Dunk on the January Gold banner or Egg on the February Squire Boy mixed summon, which burned Splendid Summon Tokens. The same shop window is open for Night King shards on this month’s Goldroad Pass. A prestige prequel can be sincere on Sunday night and still be a shard sink on Monday morning, because the license was built for both.

HBO Has Season 2 in the First Half of 2027

Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, was asked about more Game of Thrones spinoffs and pointed back at the two shows already on the books. He called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Emmy-nominated and said it was coming in the first half of ’27, then added that besides that and House of the Dragon there was nothing else. Showrunner Ira Parker has said season 2 adapts George R.R. Martin’s novella The Sworn Sword, again in six half-hour episodes on HBO, with Peter Claffey back as Dunk and Dexter Sol Ansell back as Egg. Filming on those episodes wrapped over the summer after floods in the Canary Islands stalled a shoot that was meant to look like a drought.

SEASON 1 BY THE NUMBERS

  • U.S. average: Warner Bros. Discovery put the season at about 14 million U.S. viewers per episode across platforms.
  • Worldwide: The same tally ran to 26 million viewers globally, with room to grow on the 90-day window HBO uses.
  • Finale: The February 22 closer drew 9.5 million U.S. viewers in three days, the season’s high.
  • Awards: The Television Academy lists nine Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and one win for Outstanding Stunt Performance.

Those figures are why a mobile calendar still bothers with a bald squire. The half-hour show found an audience without dragons as a weekly engine, then left a gap of more than a year before The Sworn Sword can air. Legends fills gaps like that for a living. It filled this one in January with a Gold-gem tank, again in February with a Blue-gem healer, and now with an item named for loyalty, dropping at 3 a.m. ET on September 30, while the next time Dunk and Egg walk an actual road remains the first half of 2027.
