Ariana Madix’s Empty Los Angeles House Fits a Bravo Pattern
Police say Ariana Madix’s Los Angeles house was broken into on October 17, a rear-door jewelry job while she was billed on Broadway.
Los Angeles police say someone broke into Ariana Madix’s house on October 17 and left with jewelry. Officers did not walk the property until the afternoon of October 20, when they found the back door shattered.
The Vanderpump Rules alum and Love Island USA host, 41, had a public job in New York that week. Police have not said whether she was home. They have released no suspect description and no dollar figure for what was taken.
Officers Found the Back Door Shattered
The Los Angeles Police Department said the house was broken into on October 17, a Saturday, and that officers responded on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 20. That is a three-day gap between the break-in and the police walk-through. Inside that gap, the back door sat broken.
Officers found the door shattered and treated that opening as the way in. Jewelry and other property were missing. Police have not identified a suspect and have not put out a physical description, which usually means they do not yet have usable video of a face, a car, or a handoff.
A smashed rear door is a working method in Los Angeles, not a flourish. Crews cut the quiet side of a house, grab what sits in a closet or a box, and leave before anyone on the street has a reason to look. Jewelry moves. It is small, it is hard to mark, and it is easy to walk out with in a bag.
THE MADIX HOUSE IN OCTOBER
- September 12, 2026: Madix begins a billed run as Connie Francis at Circle in the Square Theatre in New York.
- October 17, 2026: Someone breaks into her Los Angeles house through the back door and takes jewelry and other property.
- October 20, 2026: Officers respond in the afternoon, find the back door shattered, and log the burglary; her producers also say she will stay on Broadway through November 28.
- November 28, 2026: Her extended final date as Connie Francis, still on the production calendar.
The dates do not prove a watcher sat in the seats. They do show a house that could sit dark while its owner’s name was on a New York marquee, and a police response that arrived after a weekend and a Monday had already passed.
Eight Shows a Week and an Empty Los Angeles House
Madix has been appearing in the Bobby Darin musical Just in Time since September 12, a 10-week engagement that was first set to end November 22. She plays Connie Francis opposite a rotating Bobby Darin. The production sits at Circle in the Square, and the official site still sells her in the part.
On October 20, the same day officers stood at the broken door in Los Angeles, producers Tom Kirdahy and Robert Ahrens extended her Broadway run by a week, through November 28. They did not mention a burglary. They talked about the house she is actually standing in each night.
Ariana has been earning standing ovations nightly for her stunning performance as Connie Francis in Just in Time. We’re thrilled that this extension will give even more audiences the chance to see her incredible star power live on stage.

She is a 2026 Emmy nominee for hosting Love Island USA. She made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago in 2024 and finished third on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars. That is not a police fact. It is the public calendar. A billed New York run tells anyone who can read a listings page which coast the ticket is on.
Police have not confirmed she was in New York on October 17, and they have not said a pet, a guest, or a house-sitter was inside. The careful version is the true one: occupancy is unconfirmed, and the job that week was a New York stage.
The house itself is the one she bought for $1.6 million on March 19, 2024, after her split from former costar Tom Sandoval, a three-bedroom, two-bath midcentury place in the Hollywood Hills with views of the Hollywood sign. In May 2026, she and Sandoval sold the Valley Village house they had bought together in 2019 for $3.1 million. The new place was the fresh start. It is also a quieter building than a Bravo farmhouse that had already been on television.
Bravo Homes Have Been Hit on the Road
Bravo houses in Los Angeles have been soft targets when the people who live in them are known to be somewhere else. The goods on camera are the same goods in the closet: jewelry, handbags, watches. The entry is often glass on the back or the side, because that is the wall the street cannot see.
On November 15, 2025, Kathy Hilton and Sutton Stracke both had their Los Angeles homes broken into while they were in Las Vegas for BravoCon. Stracke’s dog walker found a kitchen window broken in the afternoon. She later put the loss at up to $1 million in handbags and jewelry and said three men had been in her house. Rick Hilton called 911 that night to report three burglars inside the Hilton home. LAPD completed burglary reports on both blocks.
Stracke talked about it weeks later and did not dress it up as random bad luck on a quiet street.
I never conjured the idea that somebody was watching this show to break into my house.
Sutton Stracke, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, ABC News Nightline
Dorit Kemsley’s Encino house was a louder version of the same math. On October 27, 2021, at 10:50 p.m., three men smashed rear glass, went upstairs, and confronted her in bed while her children slept and her husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, was in London. LAPD said they took handbags, jewelry, and watches with a significant loss and left in a black truck. She was home. Madix’s file, so far, reads as a burglary of a house, not a confrontation with a person.
BRAVO AND VALLEY JEWELRY JOBS
| House | Date | Who was there | How they got in | What left |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ariana Madix, Los Angeles | October 17, 2026 | Police have not said | Shattered back door | Jewelry and other property; no value released |
| Sherman Oaks, Greenleaf Street | October 19, 2026 | Not stated | Shattered rear glass door | More than $160,000 in designer handbags and an amethyst |
| Sutton Stracke and Kathy Hilton | November 15, 2025 | Both at BravoCon in Las Vegas | Kitchen window at Stracke’s; three burglars inside the Hilton home | Stracke: up to $1 million in handbags and jewelry |
| Dorit Kemsley, Encino | October 27, 2021 | Home with her children; husband in London | Smashed rear glass | Handbags, jewelry, and watches |
The table is not a lineup of the same crew. It is a lineup of the same bet: glass on the quiet side, luxury that photographs well, and a calendar that can be read from outside the gates.
Two Nights Later, Sherman Oaks Lost More Than $160,000
Two days after the Madix break-in, on October 19 around 8 p.m., thieves shattered a rear glass door on the 14000 block of Greenleaf Street in Sherman Oaks, ransacked the house, and left with more than $160,000 in designer handbags and an amethyst stone, LAPD told local investigators. No arrests have been announced in that case either.
That job is not Madix’s job. It is the same week, the same city, the same rear glass, and the same appetite for goods that fit in a bag. On September 8, three masked men took at least $500,000 in jewelry from a Valley Village house on the 11000 block of Morrison Street after a worker found the place ransacked. Valley Village is also where Madix and Sandoval used to live.
On October 20, while officers were documenting Madix’s door, LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division announced five arrests in a separate string. Those February 2026 jobs in Tarzana and Woodland Hills used one move over and over, and the department wrote it down in plain language, including the part about smashing open the rear sliding glass doors.
During these incidents, the suspects forced entry into the residences by smashing open the rear sliding glass doors. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the residences, taking jewelry, designer purses, glasses and clothing.
Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery-Homicide Division, October 20 news release
Detectives released video of that Valley series the next day.
They named Manuel Nava, 21, of Hawthorne; Michael Lewis, 22, of Inglewood; Brett Bailey, 18, of Los Angeles; Elijah Smith, 18, of Los Angeles; and Tonice Davis, 32, of Los Angeles. Bail was set from $50,000 to $165,000. Search warrants turned up handheld radios, masks, gloves, Wi-Fi jammers, two vehicles, and a cache of weapons and ammunition. Detectives said they think the group is tied to more burglaries that were never reported, and they asked other victims to call. They have not named Madix’s house as one of those jobs.
What Police Have Confirmed About the Madix Burglary
The Madix file is still a short one. That is not caution for its own sake. It is what the department has actually put on the record, and it is thinner than the Bravo history sitting next to it.
WHAT WE KNOW
- The date: LAPD says the house was broken into on October 17, 2026.
- The door: Officers who arrived on the afternoon of October 20 found the back door shattered and treated it as the point of entry.
- The loss: Jewelry and other property were taken; police have not released a value.
- The suspect: No description and no arrest have been released.
WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED
- Occupancy: Police have not said whether Madix, a guest, or an animal was inside.
- A dollar figure: No official estimate has been published.
- A link to other crews: The February Valley arrests and the Sherman Oaks handbag job have not been tied to this house.
- A statement from Madix: She has not issued a public comment on the break-in.
A shattered back door left for days is a problem beyond missing rings. Anyone can get in. Anything that lives inside can get out. That is the part of an empty house a police report does not have to spell out.
Valley Crews Still Smash Rear Glass for Jewelry
Robbery-Homicide’s October 20 release reads like a field manual because it is one. The kit they seized is the kit that makes a quiet house quieter.
THE KIT IN THE WARRANTS
- Radios: Handheld units so a lookout and a person at the glass can talk without using a phone network.
- Jammers: Wi-Fi blockers that can knock a camera or an alarm off a home network long enough to finish the room.
- Cover: Masks and gloves, which is why so many of these jobs produce no usable face.
- The take: Jewelry, designer purses, glasses, and clothing, all of it light enough to carry through a broken slider.
That list belongs to the February Tarzana and Woodland Hills cases, plus linked jobs in Downey. Repeating it next to Madix’s door is not a charge. It is the method LAPD is already chasing in the same county, in the same month her case hit the blotter. Detectives asked anyone who recognized the pattern to call Detective Mrakich or Detective Ortega at 213-486-6840, or to use RHDTIPLINE@LAPD.ONLINE.
Madix’s New York run is still on the board. The official cast page lists her billed role as Connie Francis through late November, and the producers’ extension holds her there through November 28. Police have released no suspect in the Los Angeles burglary. The jewelry is missing, the back door was glass, and the house sat with that opening long enough for a neighbor, a clock, and a three-day gap to become the entire known story.
