Since 1962, India has observed September 5 as Teachers’ Day to commemorate Dr. Radhakrishnan’s exceptional approach to education and students.

Students at the country’s educational institutions commemorate the day by producing tribute speeches, poetry, and other works for their instructors. On the occasion of that, the President of India bestows the National Award on selected teachers.

As part of the festivities, the Education Ministry will hold the Shiksha Parv from September 5 to September 17.
