Unlock Process Begins In Odisha From August 01, COVID-19 Curbs

In light of the decline in COVID-19 cases, the Odisha government announced today the start of the unlock procedure in the state.

According to Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena, the state government has chosen to begin the unlocking procedure because the number of daily positive cases has decreased in as many as 27 districts.

Shopping malls and parks will reopen across the state as part of the relaxations. However, all 30 districts will have a night curfew between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Because the number of cases in Cuttack, Khordha, and Puri districts remains high, the weekend shutdown will continue in these three districts. Social and political institutions, on the other hand, will stay closed.

However, the decision to reopen religious institutions would be made by the various district administrations, according to the source.

“In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, malls, restaurants, bars, and cinema halls will reopen at 50% capacity. Only fully vaccinated persons would be permitted within Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri, according to the SRC.
