Shereshaah trailer was released from the icy heights of Kargil by its leads — Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani — on Sunday evening. The setting was apt for the film based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra. The soldier, who famously said, “I’ll either come back after raising the Indian flag in victory or return wrapped in it, but I will come for sure”, before leaving for Kargil, was killed while fighting valiantly.
Shershaah’s trailer begins with the voice of Sidharth Malhotra, who plays Vikram Batra in the film. He talks about how the life of the military is respected and there is no religion for them more than their love of the country. Soon, we meet Sidharth in a military uniform, and we see a glimpse of the beautiful Kargil, as Sidharth and the other characters reveal the danger in this area. We are embarking on a war in Kargil, which was fought in 1999 between India and Pakistan between May and July when troops and terrorists from across the border entered India.
In the Shershaah trailer, the focus is on young men like Vikram Batra who stood up for the challenge and defended their country in times of need. Full of life and courage, Vikram is seen leaving for Kargil and being at the forefront of the war. Sidharth strikes hard as Vikram Batra ready to live and die for India.
With the Shershaah trailer, we also get a summary of Vikram’s love story. The film plays Kiara Advani as Dimple Cheema. Dimple was Vikram’s girlfriend and his great strength. He never married after his death and remains as his widow.
