SCB Jr Doctors Extend Support Towards Nationwide Protest

Cuttack: Supporting the Nationwide agitation against NEET PG council delay, PG doctors from Premier SCB Medical College have extended their support in this regard on 30 December. Despite aced the PG entrance examinations, the doctors said that there had been an excessive delay in PG admissions.

The junior doctors have protested Inside the campus holding poster that says ‘’ doctors are also human don’t over burden them, don’t let them bleed” Doctors’ Lives Matter and “and ‘’Protect the hands that heal” etc

Speaking about the agitation a junior doctor said  “Centre has been delaying the process as which it becomes burden for the doctors to manage everything without a support. We have been playing significant role to battle against COVID ever since its outbreak in 2020. In between many doctors have succumbed to COVID as well because we prioritized our duty over personal life. The post remained vacant since last year which is yet to be fulfilled in order to reduce the work load”, She added.

The IMA’s Junior Doctors’ Network had on Monday extended solidarity with the resident doctors and wrote to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya demanding fast-tracking of the court hearing to expedite NEET PG 2021 counselling.
It must be noted that the counselling was scheduled from October 25, but was postponed after the Supreme Court’s direction. The SC will hear a plea challenging Centre and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)’s decision to provide 27 per cent reservation to OBC and 10 per cent to EWS students in all India quota medical seats. MCC will conduct the counselling after the apex court takes a decision on the plea.
