Odisha: IMD Issues Yellow Warning With Heavy Rainfall Till 27th June

  • Rain, thunderstorms, and lightning are expected to continue in Odisha for the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

It has also issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for heavy rain in one or two locations throughout numerous regions of the state until June 27.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at numerous sites over the districts of North Odisha and at a few places over the districts of South Odisha, according to the IMD’s forecast for the next 24 hours.

It has also issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for the next 24 hours, predicting heavy rain in many places across the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Jajpur, as well as thunderstorms with lightning in one or two places across the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 22.06.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2021):

Many places throughout North Odisha’s districts and a few places across South Odisha’s districts are likely to get light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Yellow Warning (to be updated):

Over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara Jajpur, heavy rainfall is extremely likely to occur at one or two locations.

Over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2021):

Yellow Warning (to be updated):

Heavy rain is expected in one or two locations over the Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh, and Deogarh districts.

Over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2021):

Yellow Warning (to be updated):

Over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Angul, and Deogarh, heavy rainfall is extremely likely to occur at one or two locations.

Over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore, a thunderstorm with lightning is extremely likely to occur at one or two locations.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2021):

Many regions over the districts of interior Odisha and a few spots over the districts of coastal Odisha are likely to have light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Yellow Warning (to be updated):

Over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Jajpur, heavy rainfall is extremely likely to occur at one or two locations.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.06.2021):

Yellow Warning (to be updated):

Heavy rain is expected in one or two locations in the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
