The Odisha government has agreed to start boating facilities at 100 water tracks by December this year in order to enhance the tourism sector.
Chief Secretary S.C. Mahapatra asked the departments of forest and environment, water resources, and tourism to identify roughly 100 locations for the boating facilities and submit a final list within a month during a virtual meeting on Friday.
Mahapatra also instructed the concerned officials to set up the floating jetties and boats in a timely manner, with activity beginning by December of current year.
He went on to say that the destinations should be chosen based on their competitiveness in the tourism sector and their ability to provide travelers with unique experiences.
The Chief Secretary stated that proper location selection and promotion will attract private investment to the tourist sector, which will take the state’s eco-tourism to the next level.
