India’s ODI and T-20I’s Team Captaincy may be set to have a major change as reports indicate towards Virat Kohli stepping down from the position of skipper, and Rohit Sharma, who is currently the deputy can take up the responsibility. This can take place before the 2021 Twenty-20 World Cup in UAE & Oman.
“Virat himself will make the announcement. He is of the view that he needs to concentrate on his batting and go back to becoming what he’s always been — the best batsman in the world,” – Sources said to Times Of India
Kohli will share the leadership duties with Rohit. Sharma, who is the most talked-about captain in IPL has led the Indian team on 10 ODI’s and has stood victorious on 8 of them. Kohli is believed to focus more on his batting.
