While names like Sidharth Shukla, Farah Khan, and Rohit Shetty were circulating, the exclusive information is that Karan Johar will host the digital micro version of the most popular show. For the special series, which premieres on Voot on August 8, the filmmaker will take on the role of Salman Khan.
Given that the reality show would air on the internet, a source told that they intended to make it sassier and hotter. Karan Johar, who is known for being a talkative person who enjoys gossip, fit the description for the OTT version. “Karan appreciates the Bigg Boss format, and knowing that the digital version will appeal to a younger audience, he was eager to join the team. In addition, unlike the TV programme, this is a shorter commitment, making it more manageable for him, especially since he is about to begin production for Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,” the source added.
Karan Johar is a natural in this new job, having hosted numerous seasons of Koffee with Karan. He’d even presented the Netflix dating show What the Love!, which debuted in 2020. Bigg Boss OTT will premiere on August 8 and will be available on Voot for six weeks. After that, a handful of the best contestants will be chosen to go on the main programme, Bigg Boss 15, which will air on Colors.
