Cyclone Tauktea is expected to land in Gujurat coast by may 18: IMD

Indian meteorological department has Said Tauktae has intensified and expected to touch the Gujurat on May 18 early morning.

It is likely to cause heavy rainfall in the Coastal district of Gujurat. Extremely heavy rainfall in Gir Somnath and Junagadh very to very heavy at a few places Saurashtra, Cutch, and Diu Porbandar, Debobhumi Dwarka, Amreli, Rajkot and Jamnagar.


The Union Home ministry in an advisory to the Gujurat said that a severe cyclone likely to damage thatched, roads, power and communication lines especially in the district of Sourashtra region such as Debobhumi Dwarka, kutch Porbander and Junagadh, Jamnagar, Amrelli, Morbi.

 the fishing operation has been suspended by the Gujurat govt. IMD has warned that Cyclone will affect the 5 states with heavy rains and strong winds gusting up 170 kph.

Meanwhile,  The National Disaster Management response force(NDRF)team are being deployed At all the district Of Gujurat which has been under threat of Damage.

On Saturday PM Narendra Modi reviewed the preparedness of the States central ministry Agency concerned to deal with the situation and asked to take every possible measure to ensure the people are safely evacuated.
