The iPhone 13 launch date is expected to be as of September 14 since Apple Inc has confirmed that its annual big event will take place on the same date.
The event, also known as the ‘California Streaming’ Apple event, is likely to be utilized by the firm to announce its new iPhones.
Aside from the iPhone 13, the firm is also anticipated to release new Apple Watch and AirPod versions.
Apple Watches are only issued once a year, and the updated version of AirPods is likely to be unveiled soon, given the latest update was in 2019, about two years ago.
Notably, the iPhone will be the most anticipated device that Apple is slated to reveal at its September 14 presentation. Some iPhone 13 details have leaked online, and the largest of them all, if rumors are to be believed, is that the iPhone 13 will enable satellite communication.
According to Kuo’s investor note, which was seen by MacRumors, the iPhone 13 range would also have hardware capable of connecting to LEO satellites. Users of the iPhone 13 may make calls and send messages without the requirement for a 4G or 5G cellular connection if necessary software functionalities are activated. The new phone will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 baseband processor, which allows satellite communication.
According to the report, customers will not have to pay to communicate via LEO satellites. Telecom providers, on the other hand, may need to engage with Globalstar, a firm with whom Qualcomm is collaborating, to provide satellite communication access.
According to a different source, the function would be called “Emergency Message by Satellite” and will be included as a third protocol within the iMessage program. This feature will display grey bubbles instead of green and blue bubbles for SMS and iMessage communications.
While Apple usually launches an updated iPhone in September, the iPhone 12 announcement event was moved out to October last year owing to the COVID-19 epidemic.
It’s possible that Apple may introduce new MacBook Pro and iPad models alongside the iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. However, assuming the firm adheres to its yearly plan, the new models may be introduced this fall.
